How to compare results text with table data
Results prose should identify the relevant table, reproduce or transform values transparently, and avoid unsupported emphasis.
Locate each narrative number
For every number in results prose, identify the source cell or named calculation. Derived values need a reproducible formula.
Check labels and conditions
A matching token can still refer to the wrong sample, time point, or unit. Compare headers and experimental conditions as well as digits.
Explain rounding
Tables and prose may use different precision only when the rounding rule remains clear and does not change the interpretation.
Keep interpretation bounded
Results can describe observed patterns. Mechanistic explanations need evidence and usually belong in discussion.
