What lab report consistency means
A report is internally consistent when repeated quantities, labels, calculations, and claims agree with the evidence they cite.
Consistency is a relationship
A sentence can be well written and still disagree with a table. Consistency review compares connected parts: raw values to calculations, calculations to results, results to claims, and requirements to the submitted evidence.
Consistency is not correctness
Two sections can repeat the same wrong value. Agreement therefore cannot prove that an experiment, method, or interpretation is scientifically correct.
What to compare
Prioritize repeated numbers, unit conversions, named samples, figure references, statistical summaries, and conclusion language. These are common handoff points where an edit in one place can leave another place stale.
