How to check a lab report against a rubric
Translate rubric rows into observable evidence locations, then review completeness and consistency yourself.
Use the actual rubric
Do not substitute a generic checklist for course-specific requirements. Preserve the original wording and any performance descriptors.
Map requirements to evidence
Record the section, figure, table, calculation, or appendix that addresses each requirement.
Separate presence from quality
Finding keywords only shows a candidate location. It does not establish that the reasoning satisfies an instructor's standard.
Resolve conflicts explicitly
When a generic convention conflicts with the course rubric, follow the course instruction and document the decision.
