Lab Report Title Examples: Make the Experiment Specific Without Overclaiming

Draft several title types from the performed experiment, then audit each against the method and final analyzed result. Do not paste an example title into an unrelated report.
Draft the title last enough that the actual result and final terminology are stable. Compare a neutral method-led title with a result-led alternative. If the result is uncertain, mixed, or not the course's preferred title style, keep the neutral version. Never strengthen the title merely because it sounds more publishable.

Weak: Enzyme Lab. More specific: Effect of temperature on catalase activity measured by oxygen production. A result-led version is appropriate only if the final analyzed evidence supports the named direction and the course permits that style.
Match claim strength to the design
Build candidate titles from the actual system or material, central variables or comparison, and relevant method. A generic handout name such as Photosynthesis Lab tells the reader almost nothing. A more specific title identifies what was varied and measured. A result-led title can be useful only after analysis is final and only when the report's evidence supports that wording.
Audit each noun and relationship against the report. The organism, material, variable, condition, and method must match what was actually used. Words such as effect, causes, improves, or reduces can overstate the design. A title that reveals a result must match the final analysis, uncertainty, and conclusion rather than a preliminary expectation.

Follow the course's title convention
Audit claim strength. Association, difference, response, effect, and cause are not interchangeable. Avoid claiming a mechanism or direction that the design and result cannot establish. Use the same variable names, species, materials, units, and conditions as the methods and results, and follow any course requirement for a title page, author, date, or exercise number.
Recheck the title against final evidence
Compare the final title with the abstract, main result, and conclusion. If the title promises a result that later text qualifies or contradicts, revise the title rather than smoothing the evidence.
